Jungle Arts and Crafts

As our group of 13 trekked through mud and water and leeches in Khao Sok, one of our guides would bound off the path to collect leaves and sticks to make into hats for everyone.

He somehow correctly sized up our heads for a perfect fit every time in addition to coming up with some pretty creative designs.  The guides also made a paste to paint tribal markings on our faces and chests. Later, our guides cut down hollow reeds and showed us how to blow into them to make it into a flute.

Funny how wearing some mud and leaves on your head can make you feel ready to take on a tiger.  Leanne and Daniel (pictured above) looked like they were straight out of a storybook.  It was a very well spent three-day weekend.
